The new processors come under AMD’s leading line of Athlon II chips. The newly announced chips are the company’s first Athlon triple-core processors. The newly announced array of Athlon II CPUs has quad-core models. The chips have triple-core and dual-core in eight total new chips. Out of that six chips are the parts of the energy-efficient line-up. The low-cost model among the processors of AMD is the dual-core Athlon II X2 235e. This processor is specially designed to offer high speed of 2.7GHz. It can also give a TDP of 45W to the users.

Most of the AMD’s new Athlon II processors are designed with a TDP of 45W.AMD 235e model will be available for a price of US$69.
All the other new energy-efficient models of Athlon II X2 namely 240e, 400e, 405e, 600e and 605e have a TDP of 45W. They all have clock speeds of 2.8GHz, 2.2GHz, 2.3GHz, 2.2GHz and 2.3GHz, respectively.
Price of these processors are in the order US$77, US$99, US$102, US$133 and US$143.Apart from the above models, AMD also declared the triple-core processors namely Athlon II X3 435 and Athlon II X3 425.The new processors are designed with a 95W TDP.
They core speeds of 2.7GHz and 2.9GHz respectively. Price of the new processors are US$76 and US$86 respectively. Compared to Intel Core 2 Duo processors the new triple core processors of AMD will attract more customers due to their performance and price ratio.
